The Book

The brand new 18th Edition of British Hit Singles & Albums book (published 20th May 2005) is our biggest and best yet. Last year we included the singles and albums listings in one book for the first time ever, a move which was a huge hit with fans.

We asked you, the readers of British Hit Singles & Albums, to vote for your favourite singles and you didn’t let us down. The response from perhaps the best qualified judges of six decades of hits resulted in more than 31,000 votes cast by perhaps the world’s best-qualified pop-pickers and Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ emerged as the No.1. You can now vote for The Top 100 Albums by going to www.bibleofpop.com/vote

Here is what Queen’s Brian May had to say about the clear winner of our widely published poll of singles.

“The life expectancy of Bohemian Rhapsody seems to increase with age. The history of the track since 1975 has been even more surprising. Even though, incredibly, a quarter of a Century has passed, wherever polls are conducted, all around the Globe, Bo Rhap (as it became affectionately known) still always crops up at or near the top of the list. In this latest poll, the song was so far ahead of any rival that even months before the deadline, its position was unimpeachable. It has become a classic phenomenon, and one, which no one will ever allow us to forget! Thank you, people, for the memory.”
